xkcd Volume 0

by Chris Cunningham

Nearly a month ago I ordered xkcd Volume 0. This is a collection of AWESOME from one of my favorite webcomics ever, xkcd. To celebrate, the following is my unboxing and initial reactions

A Package?! for me?!

A Package?! for me?!

I walked into my room on a beautiful Friday afternoon to find a wonderful e-mail in my inbox. It said that my package had shipped. I clicked the tracking number to find, not only had my package shipped, but it was DELIVERED! I ran downstairs only to find that no, the area desk hadn't sorted packages yet.

1.5 hours later, I returned and found a package slip in my box I excitedly ran to the desk and handed it to them. what came back was a box (see above).

What's in the box?!

What's in the box?!

Inside said box along with a shipping order slip and some packing paper was my book!

Signed by the author himself! With Black Hat Man!

I was extremely thrilled that my book was here! Now it came out a month ago so I'm sure you're all asking, "what took so long Chris?" Well, as it turns out I ordered on the first day and paid a bit extra to have it signed by Randall Monroe, author of xkcd, and there it was, in what looks to by ultra-fine sharpie, Mr. Monroe's signature and a little Black Hat Man (a character in the comics if you read them regularly) also known as the "classhole."

Now you all also may be wondering, "Chris, why are you paying money for a comic that is free online?" Well, simple, first I think that xkcd is what has really defined my humor and geek-dom since I discovered it and second, there is bonus content inside!

Red text and drawings are bonuses!

Through many of the margins, Randall wrote extra content for the book and drew little pictures. Plus the back cover is awesome.

AWESOME

AWESOME

If anyone is interested in looking at the book let me know and we can check it out. But I am thrilled and ready to start my coffee table book collection with a true masterpiece.

update: HOLY CRAP! I think the pages might be numbered in base 3. hardcore. It is also full of codes that I might research cryptography in order to decode.
